Summary:

 

As the Master Data Manager, you will be the driving force behind our data management strategy, crucial for our rapidly growing distribution, e-commerce, and manufacturing operations. You’ll work closely with data representatives from each functional area to ensure data quality, consistency, and integration across our organization, supporting informed decision-making and business growth.

Responsibilities:

 

Data Governance and Quality Management

  • Develop and implement data governance policies tailored to our multi-faceted business model
  • Establish data ownership and accountability across distribution, e-commerce, and manufacturing functions
  • Implement data quality processes specific to our industry, focusing on financial, sales, inventory, order management, and supply chain data
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure data consistency and completeness across our ERP, e-commerce platforms, and manufacturing systems

Data Integration and Analytics

  • Oversee data flows between various systems, with a focus on integrating data from our distribution centers, e-commerce platforms, and manufacturing facilities
  • Oversee the successful data integration from legacy systems of newly acquired companies
  • Lead the implementation and management of a data lake architecture to support our complex business operations
  • Develop data models that support our unique business processes across all functional areas
  • Enable real-time analytics to drive operational efficiency and customer satisfaction

Data Documentation and Metrics:

  • Document key data metrics and data flows across the organization
  • Create and maintain comprehensive data dictionaries and flow diagrams
  • Develop and update data lineage documentation to track the origin, movement, and transformation of data
  • Establish a centralized repository for all data-related documentation

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with data representatives from each functional area, acting as a central point of expertise
  • Provide guidance on data management best practices specific to distribution, e-commerce, and manufacturing
  • Facilitate communication between IT and business units to align data initiatives with business goals

Requirements:

  • Degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
  • 7-10 years of experience in data management roles, preferably in distribution, e-commerce or manufacturing industries
  • Experience in implementing data governance frameworks
  • Global experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in data analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL-based tools)
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems used in distribution and manufacturing and data integration processes
  • Experience with web / E-Commerce data, PIM technologies
  • Experience with data modeling and standardization techniques
  • Experience with data ETL techniques
  • Familiarity with data lake architecture and big data technologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Project management experience with a track record of successful implementations

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in data management or related fields (e.g., CDMP, DGCA)
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
