Product Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated Product Engineer to join our team and drive the development of innovative PPE equipment for the arbor, utility, fire/rescue, and outdoor industries. This role blends hands-on engineering expertise with product development responsibilities, ensuring that products are not only safe and effective but also cost-competitive and aligned with market needs.

Job description:

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and proactive, with strong technical knowledge and the ability to manage multiple projects from concept to commercialization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and refine PPE products with a focus on safety, durability, and user comfort.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and maintain detailed product development calendars, ensuring timely project execution.
• Perform cost analysis, prepare cost models, and support supplier negotiations to achieve target cost objectives.
• Partner with manufacturing and supply chain teams to evaluate materials, processes, and vendors.
• Conduct testing and validation of products to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in design, materials, and processes.
• Support product launches, including preparation of technical documentation, training materials, and ongoing product support.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design.
• 3–5 years of experience in product engineering, ideally with PPE or durable goods.
• Strong understanding of material selection, manufacturing methods, and safety compliance standards.
• Experience with CAD software and design for manufacturing principles.
• Proven ability to manage product development timelines and budgets.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including experience working with vendors and cross-functional teams.
• Experience in the arbor, utility, fire/rescue, or outdoor industries is a plus.

Travel:

• Occasional travel required and may include travel outside the US.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

The work environment for this position requires time spent in the office, manufacturing facility, test laboratory, and occasional outdoor activities. Moderate noise and lifting of 50lb can be expected.
